Gelzinis: Unlike others, O’Malley on same page as Francis

From the storm clouds gathering over Baltimore this week, it sounds like the U.S. Conference of Catholic Bishops would be more comfortable if Supreme Court Justice Antonin Scalia of Trenton, N.J., were pope instead of Jorge Mario Bergoglio of Argentina, aka, Pope Francis.

The Catholic News Service in Rome reports that “many of the U.S. bishops have been disoriented by what this new pope is saying.” The story goes on to suggest that the bishops aren’t “embracing the new pope’s agenda.”
