Gas prices rise in Syracuse area, but summer prices should be lowest in 10 years

Syracuse, N.Y. — Gas prices in the Syracuse area rose 10 cents a gallon over the past week, but motorists can still look forward to the lowest summer gas prices in 10 years.

The average price of a gallon of regular gasoline jumped from $2.46 a week ago to $2.56 this morning, according to the price-tracking website GasBuddy.com. Some stations are charging as much as $2.79 a gallon.
