Futures fall as China cracks down on stock financing

U.S. stock futures fell Friday and futures markets in Asia plummeted as Chinese regulators announced a ban on the use of certain types of equities financing.

While Dow Jones Industrial Average index futures traded flat, pre-market shares on the Nasdaq and S&P 500 fell 0.9% and 0.7%, respectively. In Europe, markets saw more aggressive declines — Germany's DAX index dived about 2%. The Stoxx Europe 600 index, a continent-wide gauge, declined 1.3%.
