Frozen poop pills can make fecal transplants simpler, safer

A new study has suggested that capsules containing frozen faecal material could clear up C. difficile infections. For the study, the researchers gave the therapy to twenty people in an attempt to treat serious diarrhoea caused by Clostridium difficile bugs.

The new study builds on previous studies showing that faecal transplants could help in resetting the balance of bacteria in the gut. But researchers noted that people should not be tempted to make "home brews".
