Folic acid can reduce the risk of stroke among people suffering from high blood pressure, according to a new study conducted by medical experts in China. The study followed 20,000 adults in China with high blood pressure and history of heart ailment or stroke.
The research team monitored the study subjects for 4.5 years. Some of them were offered folic acid supplements along with regular high blood pressure medication. Medical experts suggest that the results are important as the intake of folic acid in China is low.
