You pay your money, you take your seat, you know exactly what's happening. And still, for a hundred minutes or so, they make you look at what they want you to see, slip a few other things past you and then leave you smiling and a little poorer.
"Focus" is pretty good. It has Will Smith in a nice, big, movie-star performance - the kind he hasn't done since he started getting distracted with silly, shiny, special-effects baubles like "After Earth" and the unnecessary "Men in Black 3."
