Flu vs. Ebola: Initial symptoms are similar, but that's where likeness ends

Those thousands and thousands of initial calls did not lead to one case of Ebola. This is because the early symptoms of Ebola are nearly identical to those of a far more relevant threat in America: the flu.

The two vastly different viruses begin similarly, according to the CDC, with a cough, sore throat and fatigue. This could pose a significant issue for health officials in coming months. As flu season rolls in, more and more false Ebola alarms will most likely roll in, as well.
