Flu tapering off in county

GEORGETOWN — The flu is winding down, according to the Brown County Health Department, which notes a “normal” if not “less severe” flu season compared to previous years.

“We purchased about 300-400 less vaccines than last year,” said Harold Vermillion, MHSA, RS, Health Commissioner at the Brown County Health Department. “At the beginning of the season, everyone rushes out to get their shot, so we’ve seen a decrease in shots since November and December.”
