Floating Lab Helps Researchers Decode Genomic Blueprints of Fragile Marine Life

With the help of a specialized floating laboratory, researchers at University of Florida would be able to study marine organisms. The lab is the brain-child of Leonid Moroz, a neurobiologist at the university, has state-of-the-art equipment allowing scientists to study a creature as soon as it comes out of the water.

The floating lab comprises of re-purposed steel shipping container and could be lifted by crane on any ship. Moroz said he wants to decode the genomic blueprints of fragile marine like, like comb jellies.
