First jewelry was made by Neanderthals using eagle talons

In yet another twist to the tale of the history of man, new discoveries point to Neanderthals as being far more advanced than previously thought. According to research published in PLOS ONE, the ancient hominids may have been creating and wearing jewelry long before modern humans ever thought of it. In fact, jewelry pieces fashioned from eagle talons also suggests that their hunting skills may have been more advanced than previously believed.

At the turn of the 20th century, an archaeologist by the name of Dragutin Gorjanović-Kramberger excavated a large site containing several thousand bone samples dating between 120,000 to 130,000 years ago.
