Finnish composer Einojuhani Rautavaara dead at age 87

Finnish classical composer Einojuhani Rautavaara, widely considered a successor to Jean Sibelius, has died at the age of 87.

Rautavaara, who reached international fame with his seventh symphony "Angel of Light" in 1994, died in hospital on Wednesday from post-surgery complications, Reijo Kiilanen, managing director of his record label Ondine said. He is survived by his wife and two sons.
