Fiat Chrysler's U.S. sales up for 60th month; GM, Ford fall

DETROIT — Fiat Chrysler Automobiles eked out a slim sales gain of 1.7% in March while sales fell 2.4% for General Motors and 3.4% for Ford during a month that proved to be more difficult than expected for the U.S. automotive industry regain momentum after a cold, snowy winter.

Still, Fiat Chrysler, previously known as Chrysler, was able to claim year-over-year monthly sales gains for 60 months, or five years, a stunning feat by any measure in the competitive U.S. auto industry.
