The Federal Government has threatened Yahoo with hefty fine in case the internet major does not provide data related to some of its users. Under a secret court order, the government has asked the company to disclose internet communication of its foreign customers in 2008, and if it fails to do that they will have to pay a fine of $250,000 a day.

The threat was made public on Thursday and was unsealed by a federal court. It was about 1,500 pages of previously classified documents.
