FDA Issues New Calorie Display Rule

From today on it will be quite difficult to avoid calories. The Food and Drug Administration issued a new rule under which pizza joints, coffee shops, grocery stores, vending machines and fast food and chain restaurants must display the calorie information about their menus in details.

The new calorie display rule will extend to various foods consumed by Americans on a daily basis: popcorn at the cinema, deli sandwiches, milkshakes at the ice cream shop, a cheeseburger at a drive-through or a hot dog at Target or Costco.
