FDA approves extremely accurate at-home colon cancer test

According to a statement from the U.S. Food and Drug Administration, as of Aug. 11 the federal agency has approved Cologuard, the first stool-based colorectal screening test that detects the existence of red blood cells and DNA mutations that may indicate the presence of certain types of abnormal growths that may be cancers such as colon cancer or predecessors to cancer.
