Family donates $2 million for CSO timpani position

The Chicago Symphony Orchestra has received a $2 million donation to support its timpani player.

The Chicago Symphony Orchestra Association announced the gift from Bruce and Martha Clinton and The Clinton Family Fund on Thursday. It'll go toward endowing the principal timpani position at the orchestra, which is currently held by David Herbert.
