Exotic Orcas Shifting Habitat in Pacific Northwest

Not too far off the coast of the Pacific Northwest, exotic orcas have been spotted closer and closer to the shore. While this is certainly a strange sight it is also a concerning one as the Puget Sound are near Seattle is one of major ocean traffic. Dozens of casual and commercial boats pass through those waters every day so the growing presence of orca whales could be a hindrance to both humans and orcas.

As a matter of fact, most of the sightings have been a little bit further North, near the British Columbia’s Vancouver Island and within the Strait of Juan de Fuca, according to the Seattle Times.
