ZAGREB, Croatia (AP) — A conservative populist looked set to become Croatia's first woman president after an exit poll showed her beating the center-left incumbent in a runoff election amid deep discontent over economic woes in the European Union's newest member.

The poll cited by Croatia's state TV said Kolinda Grabar-Kitarovic won 51.2 percent of the vote Sunday, while President Ivo Josipovic had 48.8 percent. Pollster Ipsos Puls, whose surveys have been accurate in the past, said the error margin was about 1 percentage point.
