EDINBURG, Ill. Taylorville resident Andra Ebert says her newly established equine visitation therapy program, Heartland Mini Hoofs, is a natural manifestation of her lifelong love of volunteering and serving others. Her husband, Bill, calls it a midlife crisis. "I think a car would have been much cheaper!" she says.

Ebert, a registered nurse and licensed social worker who still works part-time at Taylorville Memorial Hospital, is co-owner, along with her daughter Morgan, of Dark Horse Riding Center, an equine boarding and training facility located near Edinburg and entering its third year of operation.
