Evidence Found Showing Dogs Came to North America Much Later than Previously Believed

Scientists at the University of Illinois have published new evidence to suggest that dogs did not arrive in North America at the same time as human beings did.

Due to the close relationships that dogs have historically had to human beings, it was previously believed (without archaeological evidence to support it) that dogs came to Alaska along with people 40 to 20 thousand years ago across the ice bridge.
