ESO's MUSE Discovers 26 New Galaxies

As per the announcement of European Southern Observatory, unprecedented observations have been gathered by the Very Large Telescope, revealing detailed three-dimensional view of a small sector of the distant Universe. The telescope succeeded in obtaining these observations with the help of Multi Unit Spectroscopic Explorer, or MUSE, instrument which focused on a region called the Hubble Deep Field South. The new research appeared in the journal Astronomy & Astrophysics.

Long exposures of small regions of the sky helped in generating deep field images, providing information about the most distant and earliest parts of the cosmos.
