Emperor Penguins may not Return to Same Location to Breed Each Year

It was considered that emperor penguins were philopatric, meaning they would return to the same location to nest every year. But as per a new research, such might not be the case as they might not return to the same location each year.

Researchers have come across six instances in three years in which emperor penguins did not return to the same location to nest. During the time of research, researchers have also come across new colony on the Antarctic Peninsula representing the relocation of penguins.
