Emission of Gamma Rays from Dwarf Galaxy could Help Understand Dark Matter

Scientists are excited with their findings that show newly discovered dwarf galaxy radiating gamma rays. The galaxy is orbiting our own Milky Way and emission of gamma rays from it, according to the researchers, could be a signal of dark matter present at the galaxy’s center.

The galaxy, named Reticulum 2, was observed emitting gamma rays in an analysis by physicists at Carnegie Mellon, Brown, and Cambridge universities.
