SAN SALVADOR, El Salvador – El Salvador's president says he has brought together the three branches of government and the attorney general to analyze what measures can be taken in the face of spiraling gang violence.
President Salvador Sanchez Ceren told reporters Monday that he has not yet made a decision about declaring an emergency. He acknowledges there is a public clamor for a national state of emergency, but says that is something he has to discuss with all parts of government.
