Eddie Murphy steals his own awards shows at PBS and the Kennedy Center’s Mark Twain Prize

Because Eddie Murphy has been out of the spotlight the past decade, it’s easy to forget just what a force the comedian can be. The Kennedy Center’s Mark Twain Prize ceremony last month left no doubt that Murphy, 54, remains one of comedy’s greatest minds.

Tonight at 9, PBS airs a condensed version of the event that plays like a greatest hits. Arsenio Hall, Dave Chappelle and other comedians pay tribute to the honoree, introducing clips of his best work: Buckwheat from “Saturday Night Live,” “Delirious,” “Coming to America” and so on.
