An Ebola vaccine does more than enough to convince that the cure must be within a hand’s reach

GlaxoSmithKline has successfully tested an experimental Ebola vaccine that caused no serious side effects and produced an immune response in each of the 20 healthy volunteers. In an early-stage clinical trial, scientists monitored volunteers for 48 weeks beginning Sept. 2 in order to assess the safety of the vaccine.

The study found that a higher dose of the vaccine induced an immune system response that was similar to what was seen in lab animals that had also been tested before.
