Ebola screening added to intake procedures for some U. of I. international students

The University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign, while conducting its usual health screenings of international students this semester, devoted a few extra minutes to discussing the Ebola outbreak with those who arrived from the West African countries affected, officials said.

Thirty students from Nigeria and a graduate student from Sierra Leone are among those enrolled who arrived from a West African country affected by the outbreak, according to preliminary class data. Ten of the Nigerian students are new to the school this fall.
