Eat more fiber, lose more weight

A new clinical trial suggests that high-fiber diets can be easier to stick with and can produce many added health benefits. Aside from losing weight, study participants also reduced blood sugar levels and lowered their blood pressure.

In the study conducted at the University of Massachusetts Medical School, 240 participants were selected because of a high risk for type 2 diabetes. The theory was that the high-fiber diet would be easier to follow with less guidelines.
