Downtown buildings help raise autism awareness

HUNTINGTON — Across the world, people were "lighting it up blue" Thursday for World Autism Awareness Day. For some, that meant just wearing blue, but the Keith-Albee Performing Arts Center and the West Virginia Building both lit up 4th Avenue, shining awareness on Huntington.

Jimmie Beirne, chief operations officer for the Autism Services Center, which is housed in the same building as the Keith-Albee, said this is the third year the Keith-Albee has "lighted up blue" for the annual awareness day.
