Donna Douglas, who had been playing the buxom tomboy Elly May Clampett on the hit 1960s sitcom ‘The Beverly Hillbillies,’ is now dead. She died on Thursday in Baton Rouge, La., located close to her hometown of Zachary. The cause of her death was pancreatic cancer according to her niece Charlene Smith. She was 82 at the time of her death.
The actress was best known for her role in the sitcom ‘The Beverly Hillbillies’ that is a CBS comedy and is about the backwoods Ozark family that moved to Beverly Hills after getting very rich from oil. The series ran between 1962 and 1971 and featured the late Buddy Ebsen and Irene Ryan.
