Doctors at Texas hospital successfully separated conjoined twins girls. The girls shared numerous organ systems of the body such as chest wall, lungs, lining of heart, abdomen, intestines, pelvis and diaphragm. A group of health professionals performed 26 hours long surgery to separate girls. They were all preparing for months to carry out complicated surgery. The team includes six anesthesiologists, and eight surgical nurses. Currently, the girls are in critical condition. However, doctors are quite optimistic regarding their survival.
In Houston surgeons seem to be sanguine that ten months old formerly conjoined twin girl will survive after undergoing a recent surgery that separated them.
