Doctors recommend stitches instead of staples after C-section baby

New research from the largest study of its kind shows that women who give birth by Cesarean sections have fewer complications if their incisions are closed using sutures, also known as stitches, instead of staples.

Cesarean procedures – where a baby is delivered through an incision in the mother’s abdomen and a second incision in the mother’s uterus – account for about one in every three births in the United States.
