Doctors to improve detection of Breast Cancer cases in Asheville in 2015

There are possibilities that more cases of breast cancer can be detected by doctors in Asheville area beginning in 2015 and more lives will also be saved. The staff at Hope Women's Cancer Center in South Asheville expressed confidence of more accurate detection with the arrival of a new GE tomosynthesis machine and otherwise it is known as 3-D mammogram. It is the latest technology in breast cancer screening.

A first for Western North Carolina (WNC), the machine is supposed to help detect more cancers in women at earlier stages.
