Since February 27, only one new case of the measles outbreak affecting 17 states has been reported. The most recent case, number 173, was reported in Ventura County according to the state Department of Public Health. Sheila Murphy of the Ventura County Health Care Agency says that this most recent case didnâ€™t appear to be measles at first and actually needed to be retested and confirmed before administering the actual diagnosis.
According to the state, of all the measles cases in California, 40 were linked directly to Disneyland visitors or workers who were at the park in late December, between December 17-20.
