Dignity Health’s overbilling lawsuit settled for $37 million

Dignity Health, the North Californian hospital accused of overbilling the Federal Medical program has agreed to resolve the issue and will reimburse $37 million to the government. Dignity Health is a three-state hospital chain and was known as Catholic Healthcare West not very long ago.

According to the Justice Department, the hospital submitted bills for inpatient treatments at its 13 hospitals in Arizona, California and Nevada, which were meant to be charged at outpatient rates, which are much lesser.
