Dignity Health Fined $37 Million for Charging Their Patients Too Much

Dignity Hospital based in San-Francisco, is one of the largest systems in the nation. Although their administrators argue that the fault does not lie with them, they have been given a massive $37 million fine although it is unclear when the fine will have to be paid.

In 13 of their 39 hospitals in California, Nevada and Arizona they have been overcharging for inpatient care. The Justice Department maintains that they should have been charging less than their outpatient rates.
