Dietary Guidelines’ 2015 Edition drops Warning on Cholesterol Consumption

After hiatus of every five years, the US government updates its Dietary Guidelines in order to help its citizens to make healthier food choices. The 2015 edition suggests the biggest changes since the original guidelines in 1977 were made.

In the latest guidelines, warning about cholesterol consumption has been dropped. Since the 1970s, one of the main aims of the guidelines was to limit the intake of cholesterol to less than 300 mg per day.
