Diabetes numbers in US shoot to 29 Million

According to new data released by the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC), more than 29 million people in the United States have type 2 diabetes and 1 out of 4 of them are unaware of their disease. And another 86 million adults have blood sugar levels high sufficient to be detected with pre-diabetes.

The figure was determined by the 2012 data collected from the National Health and Nutrition Examination Survey (NHANES), the National Health Interview Survey (NHIS), the Indian Health Service, and 2012 US resident population approximates.
