Democratic Rep. John Barrow said Tuesday he will not run for an open Senate seat in Georgia, leaving his party to scramble for a top-tier candidate in 2014.
Barrow's decision was reported by the Atlanta Journal-Constitution. The five-term lawmaker, a member of the conservative Blue Dog Coalition, had been considering running next year for the seat of retiring GOP Sen. Saxby Chambliss.
