According to a new study, there is a greater possibility of dementia in older military veterans who have suffered a serious head injury - traumatic brain injury (TBI), which includes concussions, skull fractures and bleeding inside the skull - than uninjured veterans.

While, there had been ample studies that established the link between TBI and the risk of dementia, the latest study sought to clarify the relationship by taking into account other conditions, like depression and post-traumatic stress disorder (PTSD).
