DEC backs off the "all must go" approach to mute swan management

The New York State Department of Environmental Conservation (DEC) today released a revised wild mute swan management plan that backs off on the "all must go" approach.

Among the changes is an emphasis on protecting wild wetland habitats, while stating that the birds can remain in urban parks and other controlled settings.
