DEA OKs Expanding Drug Return Program

The DEA (Drug Enforcement Administration) and US Attorney General, Eric Holder announced yesterday that as of October 9, under final regulations community organizations, hospitals and pharmacies will be permitted to set up secure drop boxes for the disposal of unused prescription drugs year round.

The expanded program is part of the Secure and Responsible Drug Disposal Act of 2010.
