Dawn Spacecraft Enters Ceres’s Orbit After Nine Years Long Journey

Finally, NASA’s Dawn spacecraft slipped into orbit around Ceres. The space probe enters the orbit after a long journey of eight years.

In 2007, NASA lifted off Dawn spacecraft with an aim to explore asteroid belt of Mars and Jupiter. The spacecraft intended to visit two dwarf planets: Ceres and Vesta. No spacecraft has ever visited the dwarf planet. Hence, the mission marked a new history in the arena of space.
