After what seemed to be a total annihilation of the species, the Catalina fox is slowly recovering its way out of the endangered species list.

The Catalina fox is endemic to the small island of Santa Catalina off the coast of California. It’s one of the smallest fox species in the world with a weight of only 4 to 6 pounds. It’s the island largest terrestrial predator but it presents no threats to humans and it’s also very fragile.
