The United Nations Environment Programme (UNEP) has warned countries that unless they cut greenhouse gas emissions to zero in a few year, catastrophic climate changes could occur and this could endanger life on earth. The UN agency further warned that carbon emissions from human activities like burning fossil fuels should hit net zero between 2055 and 2070, or climate change could take over as a result of rising temperatures that are over 2C.
The world environmental agency also asked that methane, nitrous oxide, and hydrofluorocarbons (HFCs) which are all greenhouse gases be cut down so that between 2080 and 2100, the pre-industrial levels will have come down to net zero.
