As the week comes to an end, NASA’s Dawn spacecraft will begin orbiting the dwarf planet Ceres, the largest body in the Main Asteroid Belt between Mars and Jupiter.

It will mark the culmination of Dawn’s 8 year journey since it left earth in 2007, two-and-a-half years since it left Vesta, the asteroid belt’s second largest body.
