The Crimea Premium That’s Pushing Russia to Slash Debt Issuance

(Bloomberg) -- Don’t be fooled by the rebound in Russian bonds. Much of the financial cost imposed on the country after President Vladimir Putin annexed Crimea hasn’t gone away.

When asked to strip out all other variables and just quantify how much the Ukraine conflict is currently adding to Russian bond yields, the answer from analysts and investors in a Bloomberg survey was 3 percentage points.
