Cricket’s World Cup Hopefuls Deserve Their Day in the Sun

Apart from supporters of the teams in question, probably the only people who might be pleased that eight of the nine top-ranked teams qualified for the quarter-finals of the 2015 World Cup are the senior mandarins of the International Cricket Council. On the face of it, it appears to justify the governing body’s plan to reduce the 2019 World Cup from the current 14 teams to 10. But, for several reasons, that simply isn’t the case.
