Craig Spencer Tests Positive For Ebola In New York City

The doctor's name is Craig Spencer, confirmed New York City Councilman Mark Levine to Reuters. He reported experiencing symptoms like fever and gastrointestinal problems Thursday morning, and was transported to Bellevue Hospital in an ambulance staffed by a "specially trained HAZ TAC unit wearing Personal Protective Equipment," according to a statement from the NYC Department of Health. Even before Spencer tested positive for Ebola, public officials began tracing all of Spencer's contacts to determine if anyone was at risk of Ebola exposure since he arrived back in the U.S.

Spencer is now the fourth person in the U.S. to be diagnosed with the viral disease.
