"Suicide does not usually occur in Lewy body dementia patients," says Devi, who has treated such patients. "I see a fair amount of it because Lewy body disease is the second-most-common kind of dementia after Parkinson's."
Meanwhile, the Lewy Body Dementia Association issued a statement seeking to clarify the suggestion that Williams was displaying any dementia at the time of his death. In fact, he probably didn't, the association said.
